‘Har ki Doon’ literally means the Valley of Gods and it’s really apt for this place which is located at the base of Fateh Parvat in the Garhwal Himalayas at 3556 m and nestled among dense alpine forests and gives a breath taking view of the surrounding mountain peaks. The Har ki Doon trek is a moderate trek which introduces beginners to trekking. It is an experience in itself as it takes you to the least explored area of the Garhwal region. This 8 days/ 7 nights’ trek starts from Sankri at 1950 m and passes through beautiful fields, glaciers, meadows and orchids.

DETAILED ITINERY

DAY 1- DEHRADUN TO SANKRI VIA MUSSORIE (220kms – 10 HRS)

The first day starts at Dehradun in the morning and proceeds towards a tiny village called Sankri which is a 220kms drive away and would be the starting point of the Har ki Doon trek. The 10-hour long journey would take you through the Shivalik Himalayas and you would witness beauty and stunning views of the surrounding areas along with fresh air. Enjoy little refreshments on the way as you would reach Sankri which is at the height of 1950 m late in the evening. Overnight stay in camp at Sankri.

DAY 2- SANKRI – TALUKA TREK (12 Kms- 5 TO 6 HRS)

A fresh morning at Sankri and you are all set to start your Har ki Doon Trek. After having breakfast, you would proceed towards Taluka which is around 12kms away, that means it would take around 5 to 6 hours to reach. The trek to Taluka is of gradual ascent through paddy fields and villages. You would reach Taluka late afternoon and in the evening, a bonfire, snacks and dinner would keep you entertained. Overnight stay in tents would make you experience the star clad sky and fresh air.

DAY 3- TALUKA -OSLA TREK (14 KMS- 7 HRS)

After getting a brief from the trek leader for the day, head towards Osla which is around 14kms away from Taluka, a journey of 7 hrs and situated at an altitude of 2560 m. Along the way you would cross the Ton river and see the mesmerising beauty of the valley covered with wild orchids and you might see some wild animals of the Himalayas like Barking Deer, Bores, Blue Sheep etc. Reach Osla and spend the night in the tents and enjoying the beauty of the area by indulging in night photography.

DAY 4 –  TREK FROM OSLA TO HAR KI DOON (11 KMS – 6 HRS)

One of the most part of this adventure is the trek from Osla to Har ki Doon. This 11 kms trek would take around 6 hours and would go through open meadows and you would be rewarded by the view of snow-capped peaks. The terrain is gradual and once you reach Har ki Doon at an elevation of 6200 m, you would see the beautiful glaciers of Swargarohini and Juandhar. Enjoy these views and stay overnight.

DAY 5 – HAR KI DOON- JUANDHAR GLACIER- HAR KI DOON CAMP

This day does not involve any trekking and you can enjoy exploring the area or just relax at the camp. If you want to go exploring, you can trek to the Jaundhar Glacier which is around 4 kms away and takes around 3 hrs to reach. This 55 kms of stretch gives you a view of white snow and patches of green grass which you would always remember. After getting the picturesque view of the glacier, you would return to the campsite and retire for the night.

DAY 6 – HAR KI DOON _OSLA TREK (11 KMS- 4 HRS)

Today we would start our trek downhill from Har ki Doon to the village of Osla. This easy downhill trek of 11 kms would take you through beautiful landscapes and sights.  On arriving at Osla, relax by having a nice lunch in the tents provided and the rest of the day you can explore the area.

DAY 7- TREK FROM OSLA TO SANKRI (25 KMS- 8 HRS)

This is the last day of your trek and be ready to trek from Osla to Har ki Doon covering an area of 25 kms. Although it would be a journey of 8 hours, but it won’t be tiring as it is a downhill trek. Once you reach Sankri, you would stay overnight at the camp and just relax.

DAY 8DRIVE BACK TO DEHRADUN

Your trek officially ends with a drive back to the Dehradun railway station. You can take back all the memories of the trek and hope to return back soon.

PAYMENT POLICY

  • 46 days or more before date of departure: 25% of total cost
  • 31-45 days before date of departure: 50% of total cost
  • 30 days before date of departure: 100% of total cost
  • Booking stands cancelled if 100% payment is not received less than 30 days before departure.

CONFIRMATION POLICY

  • Customer would receive a confirmation mail within 24 hours of booking.
  • In case the departure slots are unavailable, alternate schedule according to customer preference would be arranged

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • 30 days or more before departure: 25% of total cost
  • 29-20 days before departure: 50% of total cost
  • Less than 20 days before departure: 100% of total cost
  • Due to unforeseen conditions, if certain activities are cancelled, then the tour operator would try and provide an alternate activity.

REFUND POLICY

The refund money would be processed in 10 business days.

Cancellation Policy

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the programme. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below –

Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash
Cancellations between 30days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

 Note: ADVENTURE24X7 reserves the right to cancel a programme before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.

Itinerary Changes &Trip delays:
We plan itineraries based on the information available at the time of planning and in rare circumstances, they are subject to change. In the event that the itinerary is changed or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, transportation delays, government intervention, landslides etc., we will always aim to give you the best experience possible. However, ADVENTURE24X7 cannot be held responsible for the cost of delay or changes.

Health & Fitness Requirements:
This trek does not require you to have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. We do however highly recommend having an adventurous spirit and willingness to undergo the joys & hardships of outdoor camping, in addition to good physical and mental fitness, to completely enjoy the trek. If you suffer from severe muscular, chest, heart or bronchial ailments, we advise you against participating since most treks happen in remote areas with limited access to medical services & hospital facilities. Our Trek Leaders are experienced mountaineers and we trust their judgments. If during the trek, the Trek Leader advises you against continuing on the trek, we request you to respect his judgment and follow his instructions.
